St. Nikolaus children’s hospice

This year, the scheppach managing directors decided to divide the total amount up over three different recipients. At the end of January, €10,000 was handed over to the St. Nikolaus children’s hospice in Bad Grönenbach.

In the second stage, managing director Stephan Müller handed over €15,000 to the children’s hospice service of the Günzburger Order of Malta. “I am totally flabbergasted. This is really unbelievable.” Those were the words with which Sylvia-Maria Braunwarth, head of hospice services at the Order of Malta and Alexander Pereira-Arnstein, Diocesan and district managing director of the Order of Malta received the donation cheque.

Children’s hospice service of the Order of Malta

The children’s hospice service of the Order of Malta wants to support families with terminally ill children with psycho-social care. Depending on the diagnosis and the families’ individual needs and wishes, the care should contribute to as high a quality of life as possible. The support of the Order of Malta comprises the entire life, death and mourning phase, and can therefore go on for several years.

The patients and their families are accompanied mainly by volunteers who are especially prepared to accompany children thanks to their training. The donation will make a difference, for example to grant the most seriously ill children their last wish. Part of it should also be reserved for training sessions for volunteer helpers.

The scheppach group will donate a further €15,000 from the proceeds of the Christmas party to a school in Africa to pay for a new school bus.

The scheppach donation handovers were shown in an article in the Günzburger Zeitung newspaper. The article is available at the following link: Augsburger Allgemeine - Freude über Spende ist riesengroß
